I have a 1977 Johnson 115 hp with original (obsolete) Calco tilt/trim and I'm looking for options to replace the trim motor. I understand there are adapters available to attach to the reservoir in order to be able to attach new motors that are available today. Any information where to get such an adapter or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

just replace the entire pump assy with one from an OMC stringer. the prestolite stringer pump is a drop in replacement for the calco outboard pump. the stringer pump is damp location while the outboard pump is wet location. So before installing, inspect the stringer pump carefully and use liquid rubber to make a watertight motor. the cap in particular may have vent holes on OMC and the cable entrance may just be a grommet. the stringer motor has through frame ground so you will not have a black wire like the outboard. If you want to be extra careful, then install a 10" x #14awg jumper from one of the top bolts to engine ground. the omc valve body does not have a manual release but is otherwise exact same unit. You should find whole pumps in VGC on ebay for around $120 or less.
