I have personally been through Andrew in FL ..

But what is this Irene up skimming the whole East coast ? Could it hit NYC ?

Ermm.. I dont know if this monster will stay on track up the seaboard .. Stay safe up there .

Get Water .. just in case .. raman noodles for .10 a pack wont hurt nothing .. Anyone on the Eastern US should get water and packs of food and DONT forget your meds.

This may be very eye opening come Sat night. Gas lines twenty cars deep this afternoon. Projection will be damaging if not deadly with a ten foot surge in NY harbor on a new moon high tide. Be prepared and be safe!! 40 g of fuel for the genny and 20 g of water and a weeks worth of non-perishable food. Three pumps and good neighbors. Still not comfy with this one.

Mandatory evacuation of lower Manhattan, Staten Island coast and lower Brooklyn. Nyc transit closing Sat afternoon. First time in NY City history this has occured. Also Fire Island has evacuated less than one mile from me. Starting to feel anxious.
