The plastic nuts on my switches have disintegrated. The switches are still in good shape, so I would like to just replace the nuts. None of the nuts at the local auto parts store seem to fit. Where can I get these?

Google "toggle switch hex nut" and you should find some online resources.

Thanks. How do I know what size mine are? I have actually purchased new switches at the auto parts store just to get the hex nuts and those haven't worked.

I found nuts on the switches behind the panel that seem to be used as spacers. I took those nuts and put them on the front of the panel. It seems like this should hold the switches fine. Is there any problem with doing this?

The nuts on the back are used to position the switches in the dash so they don't stick through too much (they adjustment for various dash thicknesses). If you don't mind the switches sticking through further than they do now you can use those (possibly add washers so switch sticks through the same amount). The only thing that might stop you is if the switch box behind the dash won't sit flush against the back of the dash (back of dash not flat, so washers required).

Thanks Todd4. Luckily the panel is flat, so the switches fit fine without the spacers. However, they do stick out a little further as you mention. I will take a look tomorrow and if it looks funny, I will add a washer or 2.

Even sticking out a little more, it sure looks better than the black tape I used my last time out to keep the blower switch from falling behind the panel.
