Nut size on Carburator cover

I have a Mercruiser engine- SN=0f758732 3.0L LX Alpha One. I lost the nut on top of my Carburator cover. I want to replace it with a wing nut. I just want to know the size of this nut. The closest Mercury dealer is 2 hours away, so I would buy one at my local garage. Any help on this would be much apprieciated. Thanks

Ayuh,.... Probably 1/4"- 28,.... I doubt yer gonna find a fine threaded wing-nut though....

Thanks guys, I'll go buy some next time ?'m near a Home Depot. April I will do all my maintenance for spring time. Long winter up here in the Canadian Rockies.
