Numbers on OX 66 CDI

[No more boats]

Years of owing this engine could never find the exact year and model ,
With help of others we determined engine year is around 2000 -2001

250 HP
2 stroke
Using SX 250 TRXY
Every part ordered worked fine
Pulled the CDI too correct wiring issues and noticed a series of numbers on CDI
CDI part number is 65 L 85540-00-00 for year 2000
01 for 2001
02 or 2002
Numbers stamped on my CDI
65 L -01 ( year 01 )
F 8 T-33771 - 8728 WHAT DO THESE NUMBERS MEAN ?


Will other 250 CDI from 65 L 85540 work ???

The Y in the model identity SX250TXRY indicates it is a 2000 model year motor.

The parts catalog shows that the SX250TXRY was delivered with a 65L-85540-01-00 CDI.

The -00-00 and the -01-00 CDI's have been superceded by the -02-00 CDI.

Either the 00-00, the 01-00 or the -02-00 CDI's will work on your motor.

The CDI's are made by Mitsubishi for Yamaha. The F 8 T-33771 - 8728 numbers are Mitsubishi numbers.
