NSF9.8A3 2007 cowl seal rubber

I am trying to replace the cowl seal rubber as mine is falling apart. Does anyone have a source to purchase this item ?

It is available from any Nissan, Mercury, Tohatsu or Evinrude dealer.

It shows up as in stock but when I ordered from **********, it came back as an obsolete part.

Part number should be : 3V1675010 (Top Cowl Seal) if being a 4 strokes engine. That model is under current production.

3V2675010M is the correct part number. You also need a 3AA671201M cowl latch as the seal and latch design changed. Those number's are good for Nissan or Tohatsu.

We have a new seal on the shelf... Any dealer can help you... even me... The newer seal is a "wrap-around" that captures the edge of the cowl. The old ones were applied with 2-sided foam tape on the inner side of the cowl... worked OK, but not ideal. The new seal is much better. Biggest pain is removing the old tape. You will need some "emblem adhesive" to retain the new seal. And, if you are crafty with a razor, you may be able to skip the new latch. The new latch spans the new seal, but if you place the notch of the seal there, the old latch will fit. At issue then is clearing the forward clip. We do it all the time, unless the customer requests the new latch... or... some latches have been distorted with use, and if so, you will want a new one regardless.

Probably the sites haven't noted the superceding part. You want 3V2675010M SEAL RUBBER, TOP COWL (L=1295), $48.13, available from any dealer, including several forum members... even me. If you need it, you should also get the new-style cowl latch.

My MFS8A2 Tohatsu 2004, cowl seal is in fine shape but that foam adhesive strip has detached. Local dealer recommended automotive weatherstrip adhesive. I tried 3M Super Weatherstrip product but it does not adhere to the foam tape nor the cowl rim itself. Can the foam tape be purchased ? Can the foam tape be removed - it almost falls off - and the seal be adhered to the cowl with adhesive? Rubber seal itself in fine shape. Would be waste to replace it.
