Ns9.9 Decals vs NS9.9D2

My 1996 NS 9.9D is missing the 9.9 Decals, and the other remaining decals on it look like crap. I found a few sources online that have the NS9.9D2 decal set for sale. None of them have pictures though, so I don't know if they are the same or not.

Here's what the side of mine looks like. I believe there should be a "9.9" decal on each side, and one on the very back that says "NISSAN 9.9" as well.

HP numbers are generally placed at middle back cowl and plain logos at both cowl sides...

There isn't a current parts catalog for the non-2 D series NS9.9 (NS9.9D vs NS9.9D2). For that matter, no owner's manuals either. Could be that they went from the plain D to the D2 immediately. In any event, since we're talking about a rather old motor, I doubt anyone would care about 100% authenticity. Do any of the vendors have part numbers for their decals?

Here's what I found:

I found in an online parts catalog that there are two color schemes.. Blue and gray. Apparently the N is supposed to mean gray, so I think I'll give these a try.

On a side note, I ran the motor for the first time today, it runs great and is very quiet for a 2 stroke. Didn't really want to push the boat too hard since i still need a jack plate.. but should be able to get that done next week some time. We have had an unusually warm fall, so looks like I'll still have a few more chances to run this before the winter comes.

If you can find a set and want it, grab it. According to Tohatsu America, 3A4N878011 is superceded to 3M5N878015. And... the 3M5N878015 DECAL SET, NS9.9D2 is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Well I ordered them, so we'll see what happens. From the pictures I've found, it appears that the D2 has an identical cowl to mine.

Well, looks like despite the website letting me order, they don't have them. My guess is that this is just something on their website that hasn't been updated to reflect the "NLA" status yet.

Check with Chris at internetoutboards.com. They should have a couple of sets on the old parts's pallets.

I'm going to have some of these made up.

Does anyone have one of these motors that could give me the dimensions of the 9.9 stickers that go on the sides and the one that goes on the back? I'm guessing they are roughly 2 inches tall.

almost 4 inches wide and 2 inches tall
