NS25C3 Prop Shaft Seal

I ordered a lower unit seal kit for my Nissan 25 horse NS25C3, and instead of receiving seal part #346-60111-0 I received 2 seals that have S18 28 5 on each one. Did these two seals replace the original one?

So I assume you use both and place the first one in seal first and the second one in seal facing out?

Just stack them. That's the setup used on the newer 25/30 motors, and supercedes the old single seal. See attached diagram for orientation:

I'm sorry to keep asking but I'm still not sure which direction they go. I don't understand the blowup in the diagram. One side has the seal and the other is just flat metal. Does the seal side go in first or the flat metal side? And do both go facing the same way?

The metal side goes inward (to the gears); the seals may be twin-lip units, giving a total of 4 seal lips; in fact, they would work fine either way, so it isn't critical.
