My NS 9.9B2 runs fine once it is started but when I shut it off for around 5-10 minutes I can see gas leaking in the water and most time I have to re-prime the fuel line and sometimes even choke the motor to get it started.

Is this being caused from the carb? or leaky fuel lines?

I'm just posting this so I can hopefully avoid taking the motor to the shop and do the repairs myself. Thanks for any help!!

From which engine position do you see gas leaking in the water ? Is it a 2 or 4 strokes engine ? Leak could be from a worn or dried bowl gasket, faulty float or needle...

The old 2-strokes will sometimes leave a sheen in the water from unburned fuel/oil residue in the exhaust housing. OTOH, if you have a fuel drip from the carb, that's a different thing. Needing to re-prime after being off for some time is not unusual, as the check valves in the bulb probably aren't perfect after 20-30 years. Ditto for the float needle.

Is there carb repair kits that will fix this leaking gas problem just does it just need to be replaced?

Carb parts are no longer available for this model engine due to its age. However, you shouldn't need any carb parts. Just have the carburetor correctly cleaned.
