65 years old, swam daily, roofer, and an avid sailer....... :( RIP Thomas.

Lost a friend to an aneurysm. Started the day prior as a slight pain between his shoulder blades which just made him think it was his daily routine and the next evening the pain returned and took Tom while he was sitting on the edge of his bed.

We can not take anything for granted.

Real sorry for the loss, Bob.

I don't really think it is a BS way to go. Compared to weeks, months or years of suffering I find it a kind way to go. Real downside is that Thomas had no chance to say goodbye; I hope those he loved know that they were loved and his "affairs" were in some sort of order.

Truth is, there ain't no "good" way to go, they all stink. Sorry about your friend and condolences to his family. What a shock that's got to be. It's easy to say, "we should take one day at a time", but we're always in a rush to get somewhere that we usually have to wait once we're there. Something like this makes you want to say a lot things and hug a lot of people............

Sorry for your loss Bob. Not sure any way is a good or bad way to go, and not sure that there is some magic balance of living fast and loose or conservatively. No one can fix it anyway. RIP Thomas.

Well that's too bad, but if a guy's gotta go, better in a day sitting on the side of his bed, than wasting away for years with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, some other nasty thing. Daddy went went morning drinking his coffee, no pain, no suffering, for him anyway....plenty for my mom. Sorry about your buddy! Best live each day like it was your last, 'cause it might be!

JB, that was the issue with the two friends that passed, both had young families and their affairs were not in order, I tried to help out where I could, but the biggest issue was the kids asking were mommy and daddy were. That one is hard to explain, and one I hope I never have to do again.

but this is about Bobs buddy passing on, so once again Bob sorry to hear about your friends passing.
