not sure motor will work

Have a bennington that i bought from parents without motor it was stolened last summer had a 75hp four stroke only used a couple of times dont have money for another one of those right now so bought a boat with a 115 2 stroke will this work if we take that motor and put it on the bennington what would b the cons of this

If I understand you now have a pontoon boat without a motor and another boat of some kind with a 115 horse. You want to know whether we think it would be a good idea to put the 115 on the pontoon boat, but if I interpreted correctly and didn't miss anything we don't know its size. We'll need that crucial piece of info before we can speculate as to whether you should consider the repower.

Most important...it has to be a 20" shaft, otherwise known as a long shaft. Regular shaft (15") will be next to useless. Also ensure that the pontoon is rated for a 115 hp. Next is the controls. Are both motors the same brand? The controls from the donor boat likely won't work as all the cables will not be the correct length. Keep us posted.

Welcome to iboats.

As Jeep Man said be sure it is rated for that engine, there is a plaque on the helm with the max engine size, alot of the older ones were rated for 90.

As long as it is a long shaft it should work out fine, you may need to switch your controls but the engine should push what ever boat you have nicely.
