my 25 horse 4 stroke 2006 mercury will start out peeing very strong but the more I drive it dwindles down to almost nothing and then will eventually not pee at all and go into alarm. already changed the impeller and made sure all pathways were clear.
Does your engine use a thermostat? If so, I would certainly look at replacing it. You also stated that all the water passages were clear, but how about the actual pick up holes? Are you running the engine at the proper height sitting on the transom? IDK, just some questions. :noidea:
ok. I replaced the thermostat and gasket. fired it up and motor does not pee at all. but,,,,it does blow air out of another hole in the back of the motor a lot of air. like if it was water I would be set.
Probably there's a miss match between water pump grommet and connecting upper tube, will need to drop leg and try again. Impellers must be turned CW while liner is being push downwards. Check that key in inserted between drive shaft and impeller body.
