Well I finally left a plug out  I bought my first boat in July of 1984, we launch probably 10 - 15 times a season, and I finally did it, but . . . . I have an excuse/story:
First, in the interest of full disclosure, I had an almost incident once that I have decided didn't count. That time, I was retrieving my boat and I didn't like the way she was sitting on the trailer so I went back in to winch her up some more. I had already pulled the plug, but I don't consider that a true, honest-to-god, qualifying incident as the boat never left the trailer . . . At least that's my story and I have stuck to it.
Now, to the real incident, that I will count . . . Notice above how I posted "left a plug out"? Well it wasn't my plug, or my boat, and I launched two in a row. We were in the middle of a major boating, cluster-flip operation. We had two motor-homes, two boats, and only one experienced launcher . . . me. My job was to get both off of the trailers and leave the 2nd one tied up. The other boat's owner was having his own motor-home issues and would meet us later. We had just spent an hour and a half trying to gas up everything (a story all by itself). We were cranky ("we" included wimins and chillins too), daylight was slipping away, and we all wanted our first boat ride of the season (which we did get!!! Yeah baby!!!). Anyway, I prepped my boat, plug in, launched, tied up, all good. I recall thinking briefly about the 2nd boat's plug, but then that thought was gone as quickly as a fart in a windstorm . . . Another guy that was with us prepped the 2nd one. Then, I took the seat on the ramp and launched her. When I got to the slip with the 2nd boat, the pump was flowing away, and I knew exactly what had happened Frigid water, and I wasn't interested, but my newest, up and coming, super helper (my 14 YO) volunteered and got her done. Thanks Aaron.
I'll post more about the trip in another thread, as we had a great time and got to run the boats quite a bit. But, I can now, no longer, claim to be a plug virgin; I am pregnant
