Went to spring lake with the fam this morning and it looks like sh**.

Yup it is from phosphate run-off and happens in Lake Champlain in areas too.

I agree with the phosphates.

My dad and I did the underground and plumbing on both sides of the Lake in 1975. We didn't do the sewage pump that squirts the poop across the bottom of the lake in a 12" pipe and up and over the hill to the main city sewer line. Guess where I'm thinking those phospates are comming from.

P.S. Looks like Clear Lake before the Sewage Reclamation plant went in.

P.S.S. The Park is state (Ca), Let's see what Jerry (Moon Unit) does with this.

Many of the phosphates come from the farm run off. There has been a campaign via television ads to make sure you ask your fertilizer dealer for No P - please no p in the fertilizer and then it refers to the content label that shows P=0.

I do know the algae is a nasty poison and can kill the family pets.

It usually will clear itself up in a few weeks............. just be patient and fish elsewhere in the lake

There's a ton of Sonoma Valley vineyards up stream of the creek and that could be the source.
