i have a 1979 evinrude, 55hp.. i bought the factory hookup for a tach. one that plugs in to my controls.. i also bought a new tach. i have a service manual..but can't get it to work??? also i noticed my starting battery is almost dead??? i tried hooking it to a yellow/gray wire on motor., but still nothing?? the book i have says: rectifor maybe not working?? does that charge the battery??? just got this motor a little while ago...don't knowwhat to do ???? please help.!!! thank you all....Alex.....
