not able to post new threads after being inactive since 2008

I registered with iboats in 2008, posted a few times and then became inactive (and did little boating too). Came back today and wanted to post and could not. I ended up registering under different name and email. Is this a known feature of iboats?

Your old profile says you were active this afternoon at 3:06 p.m., so you can obviously log in. Make sure you check the box to keep you logged in.

Yes, I was able to log in, but had no clearance to post, reply to posts, or even reply to PM. There was no "new thread" button and in the bottom of the screen it's stated this:

You may not post new threads
You may not post replies
You may not post attachments
You may not edit your posts

I even logged in one more time minutes ago to confirm that.

The forum will automatically list you as an abandoned user after inactivity of so long. What was your other user name and I can active your old account again for you?

Thanks, it works fine now. I was very curious about the issue and this is the first time I've seen a forum restricting inactive members. Will try to stay more active.
