That's where Boomyal's headed come 6 am Sunday morning. Tailgunner is just gonna have wait for his royal thumpin.

I'm not an avid fisherguy but I could not resist the opportunity to lay into Salmon, Halibut, Dungeness Crap and Shrimp. Just like the gold of yore, they say it is all just laying about for the taking. I hope to bring a suitcase full home.

Being an ex Californian (now a PNW'r) I keep ending up in places that I detest the weather. Ketchikan is no different. The ten day forcast is for rain and 50 ish degrees. I might as well go however, 'cause our late July weather in Vancouver WA currently sucks.

Don S had the sense to leave there but maybe I'll find a little adventure in it.

See ya all on the rebound.

And i await with you baited breath, so go live life up there well, and enjoy god's creation. I have a feel'n were going to Warrenton for the gathering, until then smile and be happy. But when you come back, sad to say a A@# whoopin is coming your way, to be tempered with crab and salmon and a few beer's or wine, until then enjoy...;)

I am jealous, as Alaska is on my list of "must see" places. But I would not be too excited about laying into Dungeness Crap! That just doesn't sound very nice to me at all! HA!

Hope you have a great time! We want a report and pictures when you return!

Hey Boom, My brother, (actual; not Bro Haut), needs a short term crew member fer two periods or so. He told me he'd pay me air fare, but does not gaurantee that I'd make any money. Do ya wanna catch lot's o' fish? 'course ya don't get to keep 'em ya just pick 'em outa the nets! He is now seining fairly close to Valdez in Northern Prince Willy's Sound! Heard he put up 60,000 lbs yesterday, (think of all the fun pickin' all those Pinks: Boom!!). Great sport!! :D:D JR ps: (jus' kiddin' ;) ) have fun n' be safe up North, n' yer right: the weather sucks this summer. BTW; this is fairly normal, (as you probably know by now, although the Portland area is not quite as drizzle prone as the Seattle area is), last summer was just unusually nice.

The digital is packed and ready to go. I'm sure I'll get a few good pics. Now off to find some boots to keep my feet warm and dry.

:D You mean clean dont ya??

Certainly that too! Wouldn't want any fish blood and guts between my toes. They say that summertime temps run between 50 and 80 deg's. It's my luck that it will be in the 50's. That's tough on this ol' California Kid. It's enough to have to put up with that livin in these parts 9 mo's out of the year. If it were up in the higher range, I'd have to live with the blood and guts 'cause I'd be wearin my Birkenstocks.

Have fun buddy! I'm sure it won't be too bad, and fresh seafood is good wherever it comes from.

Re: North to Alaska!

Bring your raingear

Ketchikan averages about 13 feet of rainfall a year!

But it is pretty on the day the sun finally shines!
