Hi All:
Getting frustrated with not being able to fish anywhere near here. All the lakes around the Gainesville area seem to have dried up to the point that I can't even get my little 14' JonBoat in the water.

Anyone know of a nearby lake with enough water to float my boat ??

Thanks in advance,

Frustrated in Gator Country:confused:

Head south on 75 to Wildwood go east on 44 to the Harris Chain of Lakes or go just a few more miles south on 75 to 470 go west about 3 miles and you will be at Lake Panasoffkee. They have been catching crappie and some Big Bass in the 9-10 pound range this past month.

Come on up here to Tallahassee (enemy territory, I know). We've got tons of lakes (Jackson, Iamonia), rivers (Wakulla, Wacissa, Aucilla, Econfina, St. Marks), The Gulf, the flats, whatever you want, and it's all within 30-45 min of town. Tallahassee is a lot like Gainesville, except we can read and write and even bathe occasionally. Oh, and the football is WAY better. We don't need help from Jesus, or anything ;) Seriously, come on up and I can give you a list of all kinds of cool places to go fresh, salt, clear, brackish whatever you want. Go Noles!

St John's River is low too. We tried to go out on a cove we have fished many times in the past and ran aground. Well not really, we actually went up on what we think was a gator. It came out from under us like the lochness monster and pushed water for about 25 yards, but never surfaced. Needless to say we found a differant spot to fish.

Gators are a force to be reckoned with. We wanted no part of the business end of that creature. GO GATORS!!

Hi Cowboy and Commander:

Thanks for the responses, I think...!!!

Anyhow, guess I should not have revealed my location.... HAHAHAH>>> But we can read and write down here, and when it rains, we do get to bathe. Nothing like a communal shower with the water coming off the roof, and with all the neighbors attending. It's a BYOB event... That's Bring Your Own Bottle of shampoo. !!!!

The lakes I used to fish at... (Santa Fe, Little Lake Orange, and Lake Alto, have pretty much dried up). I don't like to drive/tow much farther. I would come up north, but I have a Gator sticker on my truck, and I'd like to get home safely. Not a good bet up there.

Just friendly kidding....

See y'all later; it's nearly 3:00 PM and my nap time.

It is great to see fellow college football fans on here :)

Steve, Panasoffkee has cabins for rent right on the water as well as jon boats and pontoons. Come on down and make a weekend of it....I do not think we will get enough rain anytime soon to fill your lakes.

Fishing is good in this area.
