1. Sandbar if you float up on one can you use the stern to power out ( worried about sand messing up the water impeller) Being used to a outboard when this occur's it's a simple thing to just lift the dive out of harms way, not so with this volvo sx drive.

2. When reaching wot and trimming up i get a low freq rumble, @ first it sound's like the prop is cavatating and if i lower the prop i loose speed. Is this just the hull resonating due to water friction or is the drive or prop experiencing some kind of hookup problem?

1 If your on sand you can idle off BUT its better NOT to I have found all manner of small stones and other things all the way up buy my thermostat AND its hard on the PROP :)

2. entry level props dont have much cupping and cant take very much trim without blowing out

With regards to the sandbar, why not anchor out in 4' of water and walk in? In addition to tommays' comments, you wouldn't be limited to hanging out only on incoming tides and you would make your keel happy...
