Re: Nonexistant thread

If I post a topic with an actual boating question...instead of actually posting to the board...it tells me "This Topic Does Not Exist".

If I tell the board "This Topic Does Not Exist" - well, here it is.

I'm getting tired of this existentialistic crap!

I would have replied but then some would say I was only doing it to see what my name looked like in the new format....8)

Re: Nonexistant thread

I think, therefore I am. Does that mean I am not, if I don't think? Extrapolating this forward to threads, if they think, or are thought provoking, do they exist? If that is true, then is the opposite also true? Hmmm ???

Okay, I am going to cease to exist now because my head hurts too much when I exist...

Re: Nonexistant thread

here's the deal...if you exceed the maximum allowable number of characters in a thread title, your thread gets lost in some alternate cyberspace universe, where it exists, but you just can't prove it. What is the maximum? All I can tell you for sure is that it's more than 50 and less than 85.

Take this one, for example:
http://www.iboats.com/bbboard/bbBoard.cgi?a=viewthread;fid=40;gtid=1103583

Note that it appears to have no title, no text, and no author; furthermore, the Instant Reply subject line is filled in with a thread from a different forum. Don't ask me what would happen if you replied...I didn't dare try.

Pretty cool, huh?

Edit: BTW what is the maximum number of characters you can use in a subject line. ;)
