Noisey trim pump????

Has anyone tried to add any additives IE: Lucas, amsoil etc? to a noisey trim pump. Its fine going up, but sounds kinda bad going down? Whats your thoughts on this?

I have the exact same problem with my 150, 1994 Johnson. No answers to my post yet . On two occasions the motor wouldn't even run, then suddenly worked again. I'm gona remove the motor and see how it does off the pump. The fluid tank is full, and no short circuit is evident. I'll let you know what I find.

Noise is usually indicative of mechanical problems, like a worn bearing, impeller, etc.
What make/model/year?
