I am hoping someone can help me out
Installed a Brand new Stereo unit on the bridge ( replaced to old one) with 2 brand new speakers and a 1000 watt amp.
The problem I am having is every time I shut the unit off a get a load "thump" through the speakers.
This has only happened AFTER I installed the amp, didn't have an amp before. so I know it has to do with the amp but what is making this happen?
Did I wire something wrong?
Thanks
Scott

Do you have the wire from the radio head connected to the amp that remotely turns it on/off?

Some systems use relays delayed for the amp to power on and stop those popping sounds. But turning off can cause those same issues. If you don't have such relay options, you will either have to live with it or install some relay that disconnect the speakers before the amp powers down...
