Nobie with a prop question

Well I'm another new Break Out Another Thousand owner.

83 Galaxy Excutive 190, 305, I/O.

So while I was looking the boat over. I noticed that when I pull the prop aft it moves about 1/4 inch maybe less, nut, prop and shaft move as one.

Is this a problem or normal.

The nut and tab washer, etc appear to installed normal. The gimbals, outbaord stern water pump and seals were replaced not to long ago by the maraine where is was stored.

1/4" is a bit much more like 1/8 is fine. This is normal propshaft endplay.
