no water coming out off pee hole

i have a 1977 35hp rude and i just replaced the gears in the lower end and put the lower unit back on now there,s no water coming out off the pee hole. i check to make sure the tube was in pump and thats o.k my impeller looked good so what else could it be?

I Have a 70 hp rude and had the same problem when I replaced the mid section. What I did after making sure that the tube was inline I sprayed water from the pee hole to see if water came out the lower end and it did so I ran it and it was fine. Sometimes pieces of dirt or small rocks get in there and will block water one way so push it the other way. <br />Hope this info helps you out.
