I have a 2019 Mercury 200 hp 4 stroke. It only has 41 hours on it and is maintained meticulously every season, fall and spring. I finally got a chance to go fishing on the weekend but a leaf cutter bee went inside the hole(confirmed by my wife) and stuffed a spider, larvae and a leaf in the hole. The engine ran fine with only a trickle of water coming out. I shoved a plastic wire tie inside unlike a bunch of mud came out but it’s still only trickling a little bit of water out. The same thing happened to my 300 Verado but the hose was easy to access so I took it off and blasted air through it until clear. With this engine I’d have to take the whole lower cowling off. Which I don’t really want to. Any ideas??

Had a bug or seed or something like that in my OB, I was lucky enough to just hammer the throttle for a minute and it blew out. If it didnt come out after a couple minutes I was going to shut it down, but I got lucky...

Having said what you said about complexity in cleaning it out, knowing you are dealing with mud and a biodegradable insect, I'd do what you usually do with your boat and eventually it will get blown out. I hear you on the pests. I have a farm and they clog up everything and are good at ruining electric motors.
