Left side of trailer everything works. Right side the running light works but no brake or turn signal. Everything worked last time out. The lights have two wires standard color as well as a white ground wire.I read the other posts and am guessing it's a bad ground.
I have a test light and meter. I'm a roofer only thing I know about electric is it bites.
So any help on locating a bad ground? Along with some instruction on using the tools.

check the bulbs for corrosion. Scrape the contacts clean and try again.

Could be a break or corrosion at a connection in the colored wire on the right side. Could also be a bad bulb. There are 2 separate filaments in the bulb, one for the tail light, one for the sig/brake light.

I have a similiar problem with the other side. I tested the voltage and it was fine, the ground was also fine. There was no corrosion and all the bulbs and contact was in good condition. The light only used once in water.

I couldn't find the problem so I ended up putting a new light and it came back on fine.

I just spent a whole day figuring mine out.

One wire was broken in that little plastic connector that you pinch with a pliers when you wire the trailering plug into the harness. The wire were not seperated so I couldn't find the problem. I found it when I accidently pulled the wires and they fell apart.

After that the light worked on and off. The male to female plug to connect the trailer to the truck was the problem. I had the take a pliers and squeeze the female end at all the terminals because the male end was not fitting tight enough in it.

Problem solved. Green wire from truck to back of factory plug on truck was loose. It was pulled out of the connection but still in the socket. Heavy snows this past winter. I must have parked on one too many snow banks.
Thaks
