No Thrust Washer

I got a new Michigan Wheel 17P prop last week from iBoats for my tin boat. It didn't come with a thrust washer. I have bought 8 or 9 props in the last couple years from different sources, and this is the first one that didn't come with a thrust washer. Is this normal now?

Re: No Thrust Washer

My most recent purchase of an aluminum Huskee prop off Iboats also did not come with a thrust washer, nor any of the attaching hardware.

I think it's pretty normal - from what I have seen anyway. I don't recall seeing thrust washers in the same package as a prop. When you go to a dealer, they usually try and get you to buy all of the extras that go with the prop. Why spend more to buy another one if the thrust washers from past props work just fine.

The Hustler prop I bought this year from iBoats, did have a thrust washer. Maybe it is included only if the prop requires a different one than stock?

Re: No Thrust Washer

I recently ordered a Hustler prop from iboats and it did not come with a thrust washer, but the directions say to use the old one. It says DO NOT put it on without it. For my alpha 1 drive,I had to buy another anode for above the prop because the new prop just barely made contact with existing anode. I was a little frustrated that nobody mentioned that during the buying process, but it must be a common problem because the directions mention it.
