Ok so I started a new thread as Ive ruled out other possibilities. So here is a quick run down of what is happening.
1996 Mercury 150 2 stroke carb
No power at wot
No spark or weak spark in 4 of 6 cylinders
Looking under flywheel I can see one of the windings of the stator going to the charge lines(yellow to rectifier?) that is cooked. I checked hs and ls voltage and resistance and seemed in spec. So obviously stator needs to be replaced because of cooked winding but its weird Im having no tach or charging issues. Im getting ready to pull the flywheel and look for further damage. Any other test I should run or look for?
Any other advice?
