No Spark on 84 9.9 game Fisher

I did a search about ignition problems with these motors and from all the suggestions I am likely going to try and sell the motor for parts, but I have to ask is there a way I can check to see if the spark problem is a simple fix or a major one that cannot be fixed before I get rid of it? The motor is in pretty good shape and if not to expensive I would consider fixing before selling. The guy I got the motor from said it ran when he put it away in 2004.

It's the same solid state ignition, and your best shot at an easy fix is a thourough clean up of the connections. It could happen, too.
