I have a 1989 Evinrude 140 with no spark....I have 3 sets of wires that i have no idea were they go. They are coming from the junction box...One set of wires have 5 wires and the other 2 sets have 2 wires...I believe one set of wires are for the oil pump....I guess the question I'm trying to ask is, could any set of these wires stop the spark...I'm post a pic of the wiring....if not could someone provide information on how to check a power pack.

Thanks Mav

Those wires are all to do with power trim / tilt.----Nothing to do with spark !----You may need to invest in a manual.

Yes I had another thread going but I fix that issue....So the 5 wire go to the pack...I can't fine were it goes, I took everything apart and I can't fine nothing...it a female plug, but i can't find the male...also would a sheared flywheel key cause a no spark issue. is there a test for that... ???----As stated those wires have to do with the trim/ tilt system !!-----Not sure why that is argued with.-------Sheared flywheel key can cause bad timing but will not kill the spark.-----Get your self a manual or run to your trusted local repair shop.
