No spark 1971 johnson 50

me again..was tinkering on the carbs shut the engine down after 5 min or so running on muffs went to restart , no start..checked plugs clean...then the old hold the wire while some one cranks it ..no shocks..test light to wire feeding coils while wife cranks..no light...I have a manual but my manual has every other year schematic but mine..any ideas on why ignition would just stop like that?model #50else71s

i have a 72 afew month ago i cranked the motor it fired up. last friday i tried it again to take it to the lake it wasent firing ichecked the wire frome the magnito both wires was hot to the powerpack . when checking the wire frome powerpack to the coil it cranked . i dont know if the 71 is the same . does it have points .

i beleive it has points in the wiring box2 wires from under the fly wheel go to the wires the go to the coil
