Looking to put a no slip coating on the parts of my trailer that you step on to enter the boat. I would like to go with a paint on type. I am considering the following

Truck bed coating

Rubberized no slip coating that marine dealers sell

No slip additive that you can mix with paint ie Rustolem

Anybody used any of these products on trailers before? Which way should I go?

Re: no slip coatings

If you are confident with your boat driving skills, I may suggest doing the whole trailer in a "truck bed" type coating. I did it on my last boat and it worked amazing. I no longer had any problems with it trying to rust out, I could step up anywhere on the trailer, washing it off was simple and it looked awesome. I will be doing my new trailer like this when the boat gets finished being painted and reupholstered. I'm sure some may say not to as it can hurt your boats finish and they are correct, it may if your boat contacts it. So depending on your trailer configuration and your launching/recovering abilities you might think about this. If you have a real nice trailer that is already painted a nice color, you may just want to do where you step. Its all up to you and what you want. For a rugged finish and a great look though think about doing the whole trailer. Good Luck!
