I am having doubts as I run motor on muffs, looking for some feedback. I have a Johnson GT 150 VRO. Runs good sounds great, but water is coming out where the L/U bolts up. Its not much but is noticeable. I looked through forums and read that there is not a seal for that. True??

As far as I know there isn't a gasket or seal that goes between the L/U and the midsection, or atleast I have never seen one on any motor I have ever worked on. Might want to double check a diagram. Ill see if I can find one and get back to you. What year is the engine and what is the model number? I would try to tighten the L/U bolts and see if that helps. Just don't torque on them too much.

Ya thats what I read as well. Dont have model number with me, will post later. Its a johnson GT 150 VRO. 1988 model. Was considering dropping L/U a little and rtv'ing it but thought it would clog water ways.

On my 1987 150hp there is no seal and it leaks at some places; this I've been told s normal and not worry about it. Under water you'll never see it.

I like to put a little sealer there, or Indian shellac...It stops exhaust streaks from forming down that seam. Not necessary at all, just something I do. Water squeeking thru is not a problem.
