no rpm

hello
i have 83 inl 6 mariner 90 hp sn#639...when i unhook the rectifier i have rpm .
i ordered a new one put it on ... no rpm any taught.
thanks new2fish
can i run the engine without it? or can i install asimple voltage regulator??
i just uninstall the new one and motor is running fine and i have rpm.

You can buy a rectifier at Radio Shack. If you search through the posts here on the subject, you can get a RS part number.​

i have a brand new ,soon is i put it on a have no rpm,can i run the engine without it?

as far as i know yes, but it won't charge the battery. but get some one to agree with me. start a new post. title it "can i run without rectifier" then explain your situation. they may have the complete cure.

yeah it will run but not charge rhe battery and probably not run the tach.
