Re: no reverse

hmmmm I had a sim problem with my 1965 35hp Crysler a few weeks ago.

My fix ended up being a very simple adjustment in the shift linkage on the oustide of the motor just below the powerhead, close tot eh transom. There is a what looks like a long nut like maybe 2 inches with a single lock nut. I simple had to untighten the lock nut and then with a small wrench adjust the longer "nut" up or down at the same time I rotated the prop with my hand untill I found the adjustment that locked forward when shifted into forward and reverse when shifted in reverse and nuetrul was nuetrul. IF you have ever adjusted a clutch cable on a motor bike or even the brake on a mountain bike....then you can do this. Maybe this is your fix? Good luck :)

Re: no reverse

took lower unit apart today, clutch dogs looked like new. adjusted shift linkage, several times, still didn't help, is the shift pin supposed to have a spring on it?? if so, could this be causing my problem if there isn't one?
