Hopefully its as simple as a bad relay. If you have a spare, try that. If not, here are some steps to determine it’s a bad relay:
  • Power up the relay (key on) and gently tap the top of the reply with the handle of a screwdriver. If suddenly works, replace it.
  • There may be another relay that is the same so swap them and see if that fixes it (and the other item does not work).
  • Test the relay > you can do this with a simple test light or Multimeter. There is generally a circuit diagram on the relay to provide you info as to what pin should have power when its ‘turned on’
Other possibilities are you have ‘power to the relay’ from the key but no power to the relay to power the pump due to blown fuse or bad connection. In other words, a relay is really a switch for a large load (pump) that is triggered by a small ‘signal’ (ignition key). Do you have the power to pin 30 as well? (note I am unsure of the pin number, but I believe that is it).
