I recently bought a 2005 Four Winns 180 Horizen. The last couple of times we were planning to go out the battery would be dead and I would need to recharge. This past weekend it was "dead" again so I went and bought new. Well this still didn't solve the problem. I have a good battery but no power to anything. No radio, depth finder, tilt, lights etc. I do have 2.8 volts at the 12 volt feed at the helm. All fuses are good and the 50amp breaker at the engine reads closed although I don't have power there either. Sorta got me stumped.

Welcome to the forum!!:):)
It sounds like you have a wire shorted out or something is stuck on draining the battery.

Re: No Power

On another forum, this was happening to someone else, it turned out to be the automatic bilge pump was shot and stuck "on" and draining the battery...it was shorted out as a result.

Re: No Power

Also check you battery cables and connections. Corrosion is insidious and sometimes not visable until the junction is taken apart. Corrosion can also prevent a battery from being recharged.

Are you having current drained with the master switch off? In addition to a bilge pump being on, your voltage regulator could have the cut out damaged. Unfortunatelyyou are going to have to do some checking with a VOM.

Re: No Power

Well after three days new battery has lost no power due to a short. I do have power at the tilt/trim motor although its only on one side of the relay. Ended up having to jump from battery to other side of relay to raise motor to get back in garage
