Re: No Power

What are the symptoms; does it run fine but slow? Or does it sputter? Or backfire? Or...? Are you testing it out of the water on a hose?

Just some ideas: check all possible fuel line restrictions, including weak hoses that might collapse when the pump sucks gas through, clogged filters or fittings (could there be a filter in your tank you haven't replaced?). Check for loose fuel-line fittings (air sucked in). Have you checked for vaccuum leaks? Checked the compression? Timing?

Re: No Power

Check to see that all cylinders are firing first. Start the motor and remove one plug wire at a time. There should be a noticable difference when you remove the wire. If not then that cylinder is not firing. When was the last time you replaced the plugs? One might be fouled. If firing on both cylinders, run a compression check and report the numbers back to us.

------------------
Mark

Thought for the day..... If everything seems to be going well, you have
obviously overlooked something.

Re: No Power

Thanks for your help..I am testing it in the local lake, the engine will idle but when i get it idled right it is idleing too high and the idle adjustment is all the way out,the engine misses alittle while idleing ,i cleaned the fuel lines from tank to carb,i havent checked the compression or timing yet, working 12 hours a day not much time to do much, i will check to see if both cylinders are firing once i get it back to the lake , i replaced the plugs and both are clean when i check them not wet ,i will do a compression check this weekend got to go thank..Markc and wingnit ...Roger
