Re: no power under a load

Check the fuel pickup tube in the tank, and the antisiphon valve. They may be partially plugged.

Re: no power under a load

Welcome to iboats.
If rpm's are revving up without power, might be a prop-slipping issue. What's the hull look like underneath?....could be a crud build-up issue. Is the boat in the water all the time?...could possibly be a leak that's saturated the foam and added weight. You don't say, but if it's missing during acceleration, could be a carb or fuel prob. Just like a car, 1 problem can be caused by numerous things. I realize I'm not helping you per se'....just trying to give ya some ideas.

Don,
the fuel tank was removed , it was clean, the pick up tub had no blockage.i don't know what a antisiphon valve is.

Wotknot,
the boat stays out of water and clean. there is no prop slipage. when the boat comes out of the water on plane it looses power and misses, the when you stop it dies and hard to crank till you clear it out and then cranks fine.

Re: no power under a load

Maybe a more detailed discription of what how the boat is acting.
No power under load could mean a lot of different things. Do you eventually get to full speed and it just takes longer than normal, or does it just die when you give it throttle, or maybe just get to 2000 rpms and won't go any higher.
Sounds like you are going to have to start doing some in depth troubleshooting. Compression test, checking vacuum, timing and advance timing (I assume that was checked when you replaced the distributor). Perhaps water in the carb????
