While my son and I were out fishing today, went to start port engine and nothing, turning the key a few more times and it started right up. When we got back to the slip, tried to start again, and nothing. I have twin engines so i switched the wire from star. engine to port switch and engine started, so it's not the switch. Switched wires back and checked that i have power coming into port switch, that's as far as i got. When i turn the switch, the gauges don't do anything. The engines are 1996 Merc. 225 hp, carb. I'm thinking a bad wire or connection, any help to where to start looking and / or testing? Thank's in advance for any advice.

Re: No power to start engine

It sounds like a dirty or loose connection to the battery
