No power to primer solenoid

Hello, <br />Found out why my '88 rude 28hp is grumpy when starting. I am getting no power to the primer. Any ideas on where to start on this one?<br />Not even sure if the primer works but I need to get power to it to find out.<br /><br />Thanks in advance for any help

I'd start at the switch. You know you have power to the switch or the engine wouldn't crank. I think it's a purple & white wire connected to the "C" terminal on the switch. You should have 12 vdc there with the switch pushed in for priming.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
