Hi everyone. Hoping somebody can help with my boat. I replaced my bilge pump and that seems to be working fine now, but after i replaced it. I have no power from the ignition to start the boat. Could this just be a fuse that is blown that I’m having a hard time locating? I charged the battery and that didn’t help. Not even a click wanting to make a spark. I definitely did not miss any wires leading to the battery. The boat started on muffs perfectly before i cut the bilge pump leads. Any thoughts? I have a 40hp mariner outboard. Thank you

Most likely something was wired wrong. Check fuses and look for ignition fuse

This is mostly a guessing game . . . since we don't have much information

So, I'll guess that you cut an important ground wire when you did the bilge pump . . . the bilge pump may not have been wired correctly.

or

You shorted out a main fuse/circuit breaker when you cut the wires for the pump.

Get your multi-meter out and start tracing out where you have battery voltage and continuity to ground, and where you don't.

Got any pictures of the wiring to share?
