No power to ignition switch??

I am not getting any power when I turn the key. I thought it was a bad ignition switch so I replaced it about 3 months ago and it didn't happen again until last week. I was able to get it to start after I went back to the motor and trimmed it up. I have been able to do this several times while I was troubleshooting, if I loose power I mess with the trim on the motor and I can get it. Now it is not working when I trim the motor. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to look at to hopefully solve this problem?

Thanks for the help

I would look in the wiring by the motor. could be a bad connection or a cracked wire. because when you move it it makes contact again. may not be it but its a place to start.

Re: No power to ignition switch??

The battery cables are suspect here as they move when the engine is trimmed. I suspect you have a loose ground connection on the engine block. Follow the black battery cable from the battery to the engine. Disconnect it, clean the terminal, and then connect it firmly. Do the same for the battery ends. The large electrical plug in the engne cowl can also get corroded. Disconnect it and check the terminals. Clean them and then connect and disconnect the plug several times to buff up the terminals.
