I have a 1999 Johnson outboard 125 horse. On the lake today and all was fine for first 10 minutes. As we were tubing, I lost power to the engine. Shut engine down and restarted motor. When I put the engine in gear, it would shut off. Did this 5-6 times with the same result. Whenever engaged throttle, engine would shut off. After awhile, once engine would be started, it would idle for about 5-10 seconds before shutting off. I just replaced the battery on the boat - it starts fine so that shouldn't be the problem. Also, the lake is weedy - after I got out of the weedy area, I put the boat in reverse to get the weeds out of the intake.<br />Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
