no power 9.9 evinrude

went out yesterday ran fine got to my fishing spot was there for hour or 2 started it back up idles fine when you put full throtle to it looses power just got carbs done a month ago with tune up checked fillters hoses seems ok plugs are very black could this be the problem 1974 evinrude 9.9anything else i should check thanks for the help

well the problem was the prop the motor is fine i bought a new prop for $75 is that to much for this size motor

Always carry a 13/16 and spare plugs. Always change them with any problem. If this keeps occuring pump fuel ball while riding, if no help you need a carburetor job or possibly low compression. To check for overheating put your thumb (carefully) behind the head. If its so hot you cant keep it there 1.5-2 sec. a heating problem may be the cause as well as multiples. The engine must be at medium high level to determine this.
