starts great idles great put into gear an it still runs but only enough to make a wake an today it snaped out of it but when i slowed down it went right back to doing the same thing. I have done compession test an that was 123psi on all of them. Checked all coils good also.when i took out today i noticed that there was a white milky fluid leaking out of the seals around carb. I am going to rebuild carbs but what is this fluid? An not sure but bad seals on the carb would that be my problem with no power?

found bad gas lines changed them. Took it out today now its running better but wont get above 3000 rpm plained out an trimed up. There is no gas coming from any seals or hoses,i took the front cover off the carbs there is gas all over inside of cover an puddled in the front of the carbs, like its spiting it out what causes this

Check the fuel tank pick up hose. You could be getting an air leak there. Could be the gasket or the tube itself is bringing air in the fuel line. If the lines were bad, the tank should be ruled out.

there is a white milky film inside the carb do u happen to know what this could be? I was thinking I need to dump my gas an start new really would hate to do that with gas prices.Ill look at pick up line. thanks for any input Ive been working on her for long time.I have changed the switch box, stator, rectifier, imperpeler, spark plugs an wires.

I drained the old fuel to rule that out. I am having the same problem as you on my 1980 175 HP. Merc. 3000 RPM. and bogging. I am checking my fuel tank gasket and tube before it goes back on the water. The white miky color I dont remember on the carb rebuild last year. It is probably dried gas. Have you changed the water pump impeller recently?
