no kill switch, i want one

my 1967 mercury 65hp has no kill switch, don't believe it came with one from the factory. how can i fix one? thanks,

what ign system are you running? a magneto or the thunderbolt electronic?

i'm new to this i'm not sure, it has thunderbolt on the eng. hope this helps you.

no help<br /> does it have a seperate electronic switchbox or is the distributer all self contained?<br /> if it has a swtchbox then there will be about 6 wire running to a box. 3 from the distributor and 3 from the harness. and a seperate coil. the mag has one wire and a seperate coil

hello<br /> if you have a magneto, the standard normally open, and closed with lanyard off, switch will work. attach one lead to the mag post were the kill wire is and go to the switch. take the other lead from the switch to ground. with the lanyard in place and the circuit open it will run. pull the lanyard and close the circuit and it will quit.<br /> very simple <br />good luck and keep posting
