Hi,
I have a Yamaha 150 4 stroke, just put batteries in, power to lights, horn, but no power to tilt, starter, or no response at gas gauge or amp meter. All cables to batteries are tight and clean. Batteries full charge and I believe all wires are connected. What am I missing. 4th year with boat never had this problem.

Just stumped

Look for a blown fuse under the cowling. Probably 20 amp.

Unless the boat is wired in some unorthodox way, the engine's fuse wouldn't cause all that...fuel gauge? You have made a mistake in your wiring... may have a wire hiding itself from you, may have blown fuse(s), fuel gauge and amp meter shouldn't go through engines fuses....think your battery wires are wrong, though, most likely.

I must be missing I have looked and looked fuses all OK When I turn switch on, nothing happens, gauges do ot move, trim does not operate, and nothing to the starter. When I was checking wiring I had a loose cable at the battery switch. I have two batteries. I believe that their are two cables coming from the engine, one is red the other is black. Black goes to - on battery and red goes to battery switch. I think that is right! Thanks for your help. Still lost!

im guessing your missing a connection at battery.remember engine wiring and boat wiring are 2 different harness.the engine and control box are made to be mounted on any boat, the boat manufactor install boat electrical, fuel, tach, bilge. they share battery. in electrical section you will find generic diagrams, but very simiular for most boats. if this doesn;t help you will need test light or volt meter and tast leads about half as long as your boat.that attach ground to neg on battery and start probing harness at connectors and connections.
