no a spark gt150

No spark 1991 gt150 , I have no spark on the top two cylinders when I put timing light lead on either of the top spark plugs when the wire is plugged into the spark plug. If I pull the wires off the spark plugs then I can see the timing flash , so why do they only spark when not plugged into plug?

Are the plugs shorted out ?? Try different ones.

Na not the plugs , the stupid modern hallinduction timing light is screwing me around, tried a Allstate timing light from the 1940's and the plugs are all firming now , also took those two coils off and cleaned behind where the grounds touch the motor . I managed to snap off one bolt ,I will have to drill it out and retread the bolt hole , never ends does it.
