NLA Parts

I have another thread related to a broken shift shaft assembly on my 98 mercury 40 force. I have tried to locate the part but am finding it is NLA. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might be able to find NLA parts for Mercury?

google search the P/N and look at everything that comes up, you might have to delete some leading numbers to fit into the Merc of Force P/N scheme. I was able to locate some NLA parts for my 7.5 Force by doing that, found them from a marine shop out in CA that had some odd-ball stuff laying around.

Or, you could hit up the used outboard part shops. There is a thread with several in one of the other forums,,, I think.

I Googled part number 821483A 5. Not 100% sure that's what you're looking for and most sites do list it NLA, however, there were a few that do show it as a valid P/N and no mention whether it's NLA or in stock. I would contact those sites to double check.

Wow, I have called all over the place and keep coming up empty. Looks like I'm either going to get lucky and find the part somewhere, fix the broken part, or buy a new motor. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I'm might me able to find parts used.
